Inclusive Manager
Course Introduction
It is often said that people join organisations and leave managers: the role of the people manager is critical to the day-to-day experience that colleagues have of their workplace. In this workshop, we will focus on understanding inclusion in the context of management, exploring how to create, and be role models for inclusion and belonging.
What will participants learn?
Participants will understand how to make better decisions around people and develop a shared ‘language’ that enables them to continue the conversation beyond the workshop with their teams and colleagues.
This workshop is relevant to all managers, team leaders or supervisors, of any seniority.

Participants will:
Increase their understanding of inclusion as a business imperative
Understand their role in fostering an inclusive team
Understand terminology and language, so that they feel comfortable to have conversations about diversity and inclusion with their teams
Explore some typical inclusion scenarios that managers need to navigate
Commit to taking practical actions themselves

The moral and business imperative of creating an inclusive workplace
Understanding unconscious bias, what it is, why we have it and the implications for inclusive management
Explore how to create inclusion and belonging, including how to create a psychologically safe team
Case study discussions using relatable people management situations
Practical tips and actions for a more inclusive management approach

Inclusive Group will work with you to understand the context for your workshop. This involves a 20-minute discovery call where we explore:
