Resilience Strategies for HR Practitioners
Course Introduction
HR practitioners manage some of the most challenging and sensitive issues in the workplace, from leading grievance and capability processes, to supporting employees during periods of acute mental ill health.
HR practitioners are often the first point of contact for staff experiencing difficulties, uncertainty and distress. For many HR practitioners, the pressures and trauma associated with these challenges can take a heavy toll. There comes a time when it is crucial to prioritise the health and wellbeing of those who spend their working lives putting the needs of others first.
What will participants learn?
This workshop will equip HR practitioners with knowledge and techniques that they can apply straight away in order to, metaphorically, put their own oxygen mask on first. Attendees will benefit from theory and practical tips for managing challenging and, at times, deeply sensitive discussions with staff. Using relatable case studies, participants will discuss how to put these tips into action, in a safe and supportive environment.
The workshop will incorporate a strong focus on resilience and strategies to protect participants in situations where they may feel triggered, or experience Vicarious Trauma.
